Values-Based Leadership & Personal Coaching with Youth Development Specialist
Are you a lost soul, caught at crossroads in life, navigating adulthood while trying to find your purpose? Does your heart lie with your people, yet feel helpless in trying to make the world a better place? As someone who has worked in youth development for a decade, my goal is to help youths across the Global South to find their voice and pride in their identity.
My career has taken me from representing murder appeals at the Federal Courts in Putrajaya, interning at the South African Human Rights Commission, catching elephants in oil plantations at Lahad Datu Sabah, rehabilitating green turtles in Cagar Hutang Terengganu as well as my recent stint managing a youth leadership program in Honolulu. I am curious to hear your stories and I have plenty of personal anecdotes to share too.
I have trained and coached for the McKinsey Youth Leadership Academy, Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative, Obama Foundation so I hope we can work together too. I recommend having 10 sessions to create a personal action plan for your personal and professional goals.

Personal coaching is a collaborative process where a coach helps you identify and achieve personal or professional goals. It works through structured conversations, goal-setting, and actionable steps. The coach provides guidance, accountability, and support, helping you unlock your potential and overcome obstacles.
Both mentors and coaches play a significant role in one's growth. Coaching is goal-oriented and skill-focused with a structured approach, while mentoring is an informal, long-term relationship emphasizing personal and professional development through shared experiences and guidance. As a coach, I am more focused in helping you find your own answers by asking you probing questions while a mentor will provide you with their expertise, knowledge and experience in the field you are exploring.
Please note that coaching is not a substitute for therapy or counseling. Please seek professional mental health assistance if you are struggling with mental health issues. Coaching focuses on the present and future, with an emphasis on goal-setting and action. It’s not designed to address mental health issues while terapy and counseling focuses on healing past trauma, managing mental health conditions, and improving emotional well-being.
As a young adult, navigating your career and other adulting stuff may not be the easiest thing to do. Here are some benefits: Clarity: Gain a clearer understanding of your goals and priorities. Accountability: Stay motivated and on track with your commitments. Skill Development: Improve skills like time management, communication, and decision-making. Confidence: Build self-awareness and confidence in your abilities. Results: Achieve personal or professional goals more effectively.
Coaching can help with a wide range of goals, including: Career advancement or transition Improving relationships or communication skills Building confidence or overcoming self-doubt Achieving work-life balance Developing healthier habits (e.g., fitness, productivity) Starting a business or side hustle
It depends on your goals, comfort and budget. Some last a few weeks (e.g., for a specific project), while others can span several months (e.g., for long-term career or personal development). On average, coaching relationships last 3–6 months, with weekly, bi-weekly or monthly sessions. I personally recommend doing 10 sessions for us to build rapport, get to know each other better so we can have a more wholesome action plan and goals.
Each session lasts 60 minutes. I will ask questions and prompts to help you reflect, set goals, and identify action steps. You’ll discuss progress, challenges, and strategies for moving forward. I'd like to assure you that sessions are confidential, non-judgmental, and focused on your growth. I might also be assigning you "homework" after sessions.
I highly value constructive feedback, if you are not comfortable with my approach and style, you can communicate openly with me about your concerns. We can also revisit your goals and ensure they are specific and realistic. Change takes time and effort, so ultimately it might take a bit more patience. If the coaching relationship isn’t working, you can also consider finding a different coach or approach.
I love clients who are excited and well prepared! Before your first session, here are some things you can do: - Reflect on your goals and what you hope to achieve. - Be open and honest about your challenges and aspirations. - Come with an open mind and willingness to take action. - Write down any questions or topics you’d like to discuss.
